John Bromley took a break to chat about his role as one of the Nooksack Valley Schools’ maintenance workers before installing a protective covering on a chain link fence at Nooksack Elementary School. Dave Gebhardt had a few moments before cleaning up from lunch, part of his role as the day custodian at Nooksack Valley High School. Both, though, had a key theme: they love serving staff and students at Nooksack Valley Schools.
From cleaning bathrooms — the bathrooms always need cleaning, don’t they? — to fixing leaking sinks and replacing flashers on school zone signs to caring for the high school’s football field, the list of tasks for the maintenance and custodial crews within NV Schools never ends. And constantly changes.
The behind-the-scenes planning and design of a new Sumas Elementary School, additional classrooms at Nooksack and Everson elementary schools and updates to auxiliary areas of Nooksack Valley High School continue in earnest.
